Hello My Name Is...

1...2...3...GO!  I feel like when it comes to doing something for ME, I'm on a time clock...an alarm (a.k.a a child's cry) could go off at any minute and I'm benched.  I started this blog a long time ago...in fact, my son was 6 months old.  Made like two posts.  Deleted them. Why?  Because it was so long ago, so outdated. So not where I am in life right now.  So where am I?  Who am I?

First off, my name is Marie Antoinette.  Yes that was my given name - but my friends just call me Marie.  I am a mother of two rambunctious, beautiful boys.  My eldest, Lucas is now 3 years old and my youngest, 16 months.  Now you know why I hardly have time to keep up with this stuff.  When I had my first child, I worked a job outside the home.  6 months into my second pregnancy I became what is widely called, a stay at home mom.  I enjoyed the last few months bonding with my older son until mayhem, I mean Matteo was born.

Time.  Oh time.  Yes I struggled with finding time (and still do) to balance everything.  When I was pregnant, a good friend told me, just watch!  After you have the kid, you're going to look back at your childless self and feel like you had all the time in the world!  And oh my goodness, it's SO TRUE.  I remember having a project and saying to myself that I would start it after the baby arrived. Ha!  One big fat HAAAA!

But my good friend who told me that, has not yet experienced having her second...I have.  And after having a second child...now I look at parents with one child as if they have a lot of time, and as if they have it easier!  And that of course, may not be always true...but most of the time it is!  Having a second child, means you're always going to be mama to two demanding little people.  Most of the time, needs of the tiniest (loudest) member are met first, and then the one who asks you for juice multiple times without taking a breath is next. (Mama, I want apple juice. I want apple juice, MAMA I want apple juice, MAMA I WANT APPLE JUICE!)  And if it's the weekend and your husband is home, he's next in line. (I'll get more into that...another day).  Lastly who's next in line? Finally...you!  By the time you sit to eat breakfast and drink your tea...it's cold.  But before you have a moment to think, the baby is yelling to get out of his high chair.

I've gone off on a tangent, I know.  I tend to do that.  And I tend to be a broken record speaking about time.  But it's so true, time is limited.  So here I am, mother of two boys, temporary retiree of the 9-5 hustle and bustle.  I enjoy reading other parent's blogs...such as those written on Huffington Post.  So I decided it was time to start throwing my two cents in!
